Doha, October 23 (QNA) - The Emiri Diwan announced the death of HH the Grandfather Emir Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad Al-Thani on Sunday evening 23 October 2016 at age 84, an Emiri Diwan statement said.

The Emiri Diwan statement added: May Allah have mercy on his soul and make his residence paradise, and grant him the best reward for what he achieved to his homeland and nation.

HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani ordered three days of public mourning across the country. (QNA)
